Country Rose Cafe
If you're cruising through Hollister and looking for a laid-back spot to grab a bite, Country Rose Cafe on San Benito Street is definitely worth checking out. It’s one of those charming local gems that instantly feels familiar, like you've been there a dozen times even if it's your first visit.
The vibe? Super casual with just the right amount of buzz – not too loud, not too quiet. There’s outdoor seating that’s perfect for sunny California mornings, and yes, dogs are totally welcome. Families roll in, friend groups laugh over coffee refills, and the whole place just hums with good energy.
Now let’s talk food. The Potato Pile is a crowd favorite – a glorious stack of crispy potatoes, eggs, and toppings that’ll keep you full ‘til dinner. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, the French Toast hits the spot – golden, buttery, and served just right. More of a savory fan? Go for the Breakfast Enchiladas or the classic Eggs Benedict – both are packed with flavor and seriously satisfying. There’s also something called the Heat Pile if you’re into a little kick to start your day.
What sets Country Rose Cafe apart is how easy it is to feel at home. It’s not fancy, but it’s not basic either – just a warm, friendly space where the coffee’s always flowing and the portions are more than generous. Whether you’re meeting up with friends, grabbing brunch with the family, or just flying solo with your pup by your side, it’s a solid pick.
So if you're in the Hollister area and hungry for a hearty, no-fuss meal, Country Rose Cafe might just become your new favorite breakfast spot.

Always great food and great service here! Best Breakfast in town! If your passing through hollister you have to eat here for breakfest or lunch, always leftovers to take home and all the servers are super nice.
Good food, fast and great service. Will come again. Hate that yelp makes you post a minimum set of characters just to say you like a place.
Perfect breakfast here! I didn't even realize this type of diner existed in the central coast, but was thrilled that it does. We shared a scramble and an order of the pancakes, which was more than enough for us! The staff was friendly, and we were seated quickly. Definitely recommended!
I love the portions at this restaurant as I had leftovers and left with a happy stomach. The menu is extensive so it was a bit overwhelming on what dish to choose which was not a bad problem to have! I had the corn beef hash and I recommend getting the garlic hash browns with it. We went on a Sunday afternoon which expected to be busy so we waited for about 20 mins. We were lucky enough to find parking right at front but expect to walk to find parking on very busy days. They have outdoor and indoor seating and it's a great brunch place for bigger groups as well. We sat near the kitchen which may not be the best place since I could see all the action in the back kitchen and people taking their quick breaks. Other than that, the food was pretty good and our server made sure we were taken cared of!
Great place for breakfast anything on the menu is good. Try the buck wheat pancakes, so good
